Paul La Duca has performed or recorded with with James Moody, Joshua Redman, Sam Falzone, Bobby Militello, Dave Shiavone, Mark Turner, Don Menza, Scott Hamilton , Ellis Marsalis, Al Tinney, Michael LeDonne, Jimmy Knepper, Delfaeyo Marsalis, Donald Byrd, Roy Hargrove, Chuck Mangione, Sam Noto , Mark Elf, Kurt Rosenwinkle , Louis Marino, Kenny Washington, Eddie Locke, Nancy Kelly, Dodo Greene, Michael Civisca , Wendell Rivera and many, many others.
Beginning his jazz studies in 1984 on bass with Greg Pointek in Buffalo, he went on to graduate from Berklee College of Music, where he studied double bass under Whit Browne. After tours with the Berklee Collegiate All Stars and alto saxophonist Christopher Hollyday he moved to New York where he freelanced for 5 years.
Paul moved back to Buffalo in 1996 and obtained a Bachelor Of Mechanical Engineering degree from SUNYAB. During this time he taught electric and double bass, while performing locally. In 2006 Paul left Buffalo and took a 10 year 'sabbatical' from playing bass. However, upon moving back to Buffalo in 2019 he has resumed playing with local groups.
